BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today squarely blamed Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for making Punjab a “mafia state”.

In a statement Chugh took exception to the manner in which police and politicians have been reportedly patronising the mafias in the state making life of a common man miserable and insecure.

He said a politics of vendetta has been unleashed in the state to silence the voice of people who speak against the flourishing mafias, be it gangsters , transport mafias or sand mafias or drug mafias.

Taking a strong view of the blame game between an AAP MLA and Tarn Taran SSP, Chugh said such incidents shake the confidence of the people in the Bhagwant Mann government and instill a sense of fear and uncertainty.

He said it was an alarming situation where the AAP MLAs are themselves raising a voice of protest against the ruling AAP party and are questioning its style of working. Before the Tarn Taran incident a similar incident had happened in Amritsar where AAP MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap questioned the opening of the eminence school.

It is not just the crippling state of the economy but the entire style of governance of the AAP government that has started sending negative messages to the entire border state.
